HAMMOND, La. (WVUE) - This weekend the best mixologists in Tangipahoa Parish are coming together for a competition of creativity and skill for the bragging rights of who makes the best cocktail as part of an annual event hosted by the Hammond Regional Arts Center.
This year’s Art of the Cocktail, as its known, is set to the theme of “Cosmic Cocktails” and the arts center will be decked out in an interstellar displays of stars, space rocks, and bright lights.
The competition will feature 11 confirmed competitors from local bars and restaurants, with possible last-minute additional competitors announced. All who participate will compete for the Judge’s Choice Award and People’s Choice Award.
“Art of the Cocktail is not just a competition,” said HRAC Media Coordinator Tara Bennett. “It’s an immersive experience for cocktail enthusiasts, industry professionals and anyone who appreciates the artistry of mixology.”
The lineup features representatives from Mariner’s Inn, Truth Hookah Lounge, Cena; Hammond, Tommy’s on Thomas, Cate Street Seafood Station, and more.
